After a Disturbing Dream
A Bad Dream—Should You Tell Everyone?
You wake shaken by a disturbing dream and feel tempted to describe it to family or in a group chat. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught a brief response instead of passing the dream on.
Seek refuge with God from the dream’s evil and from Satan’s evil, spit lightly to your left three times, and do not tell anyone about it. (Sahih al-Bukhari: 7044) If a dream unsettles you, follow this guidance immediately, then let the subject rest.
A Mouth Ulcer: Count the Weeks
Still There After Three Weeks?
A small mouth ulcer appeared after you bit your cheek. The pain eased, but the sore is still there weeks later. Most mouth ulcers heal within one or two weeks. A sore that lingers should not simply be ignored.
Note the date it appeared. If it lasts longer than three weeks, arrange an examination with a dentist or doctor. The cause is often not serious, but a persistent ulcer can sometimes be a sign of mouth cancer; that is why timely assessment matters.
